Itella Logistics became one of the tenants of MLP Class A industrial complex in St Petersburg.
The logistics company rented 10,305 sq m warehouse in the 1st phase of under-construction Utkina-Zavod’ complex for a period of 7 years. Apart from industrial premises the company is occupying offices, mezzanine premises, and a part of railway elevated approach for cargo handling. Knight Frank participated as the consultant of the transaction.
According to Dmitry Gerastovsky, deputy director of industrial department at Knight Frank, the collaboration between MLP Company and Itella Logistics began in 2006. The logistics operator rented a Class A MLP-Leningradsky terminal in the Moscow region (13th km of the Leningradskoe Highway). The second warehouse in Russia Itella Logistics decided to open in 2007 in St Petersburg, continuing its workings with MLP.
“We are glad that a western company chose one of MLP’s projects, Utkina-Zavod’, the consultant of which is Knight Frank. The industrial complex is being built close to the Ring Road that provides easy transport accessibility and is one of the key transport routes in St Petersburg and the Leningrad region”, adds Vadim Prozorov, director of industrial department at Knight Frank.
In 2008 the last phases of the project will be delivered to the market. Among the tenants of the first 85,000 sq m phase of the complex are well-known logistics operators such as Relogix, RLS, Ohta-Terminal. The total space of the second phase is around 130,000 sq m.
MLP
Mezhdunarodnoe Logisticheskoe Partnerstvo (Multinational Logistics Partnership) is specializing in the development and property management of Class A warehousing complexes.
