New Knight Frank’s Project in Yaroslavl

Anatoly Lisitsyn, Governor of Yaroslavl Region, ZAO GlobalInvest and Knight Frank international consultancy have signed a three-side agreement to develop a major transport & logistics centre in the vicinities of Yaroslavl.

Within the framework of the agreement signed it is planned to build a modern logistics complex in the vicinities of Yaroslavl to organize freight and railroad transportation with Class A warehousing area not less than 200 000 sq m and potential area expansion to 350 000 sq m.

The project also provides for railroad and customs terminals intended for transportation, storage and processing of all kinds of freight. Total investments in the development and logistics infrastructure will comprise not less than 160 million US dollars. The Project is to be delivered in 2009.

Knight Frank is a sole consultant for the project. At the initial project stage specialists of the company are to analyze warehouse market of the region, to examine demand of potential Tenants in warehousing space, to work out a concept and stage-by-stage structure of the project development.

As stated by Andrew Zakrevsky, Knight Frank’s senior vice-president, the project will allow to supply a demand in prime warehousing space in the Central Region. The following geographical zones the future distribution centre will cover are 4 subjects of RF: Yaroslavskaya, Kostromskaya, Ivanovskaya and Vologodskaya regions.

“Due to strategically advantageous location of the complex the project has got a good chance to be a success: first of all we consider fast growing major logistics and FMCG companies, both international and Russian” – Roman Burtsev adds, Knight Frank’s partner.

Future logistics complex is part and parcel of transport scheme development of Russia in the north-western direction, including solving a problem of relieving Moscow transport junction.

The project is being implemented in compliance with Resolution of the Government of RF regarding the federal special programme “Up-grading the transport system of Russia in 2002 – 2010” dated 05.12. 2001 (revisions dated 31.05.2006); Protocol dated 14.07.2005 signed by Levitin I., Minister of transport of RF and Lisitsyn A., Governor of Yaroslavl region; Protocol dated February 2006 signed by Levitin I., Minister of transport of RF and Lisitsyn A., Governor of Yaroslavl region, Knight Frank and ZAO GlobalInvest.
