A special event was held in the city of Izhevsk (Republic of Udmurtia, Western Urals) on April 23 for tenants of the Talisman shopping and entertainment centre, which is due to open in the city later this year.
The Talisman centre is being developed by the company ZAO ASPEC Domstroy. Knight Frank is responsible for concept design and brokerage.
Tenants visited the construction site and attended a project presentation. A press conference was also held, at which speakers were the chief executive of ZAO ASPEC Domstroy, Alexander Dmitrov, and chief executive of the Talisman centre, Konstantin Asyamolov.
Representatives of the ZAO ASPEC Domstroy expect the centre to open in Q3 2009, thanks in part to a loan obtained from Sberbank of Russia. Alexander Dmitrov said:
“We are very glad that ASPEC Domstroy has been able to maintain its partnership with Sberbank of Russia despite the current difficult environment for major development projects. Having Sberbank as a partner means that we can look into the future with confidence and open the Talisman centre before the end of this year.”
Tenants have already been found for 80% of space at the centre. Anchor tenants, who signed up for space at the design and construction stages, are the grocery hypermarket, Perekrestok, the electronics retailer, M Video, and the children’s entertainment centre, Star Galaxy.
Knight Frank consultants gave an account of the current situation on the retail property market in Izhevsk and described their work on design of the Talisman centre and creation of a tenant pool.
Maxim Kazakov, senior consultant of the Knight Frank retail department, said:
“Talisman is a unique project for Izhevsk. Our complex combines the advantages of great location, strong anchor tenants, a well-designed concept, and the biggest entertainment zone in the Republic of Udmurtia. These are just some of the project strengths, which make us confident that Talisman will be a favorite shopping and leisure venue for local people and visitors to Udmurtia.”
Talisman is located at the intersection of Kholmogorova and Pushkinskaya streets, on the city’s main retail thoroughfare. The new centre has total area in excess of 45,000 sq m, with 27,000 sq m of rentable space. Premises include boutique galleries, a movie theatre, restaurants, and a children’s entertainment zone. The centre offers good parking arrangements (above and below ground), easy orientation for visitors, and high-quality engineering systems.
Marketing support, brand work and design of internal and external public spaces at the centre were provided by the international brand design consultancy, SCG London.
