Knight Frank Russia and CIS closes sublease deal at MLP Leningradsky Terminal for Mercedes-Benz

11 April 2009

Mercedes-Benz RUS became a subtenant at the A-class warehousing complex, MLP Leningradsky Terminal, leasing 8500 sq m from Japanese Mitsui for storage of car parts. Knight Frank Russia and CIS acted as deal consultant.

The sublease is for 3 years, and the premises will be used by Mercedes-Benz RUS for storage of vehicle spare parts. Knight Frank Russia and CIS already carried out primary leasing of space at Leningradsky Terminal on an exclusive basis in 2007.

Mikhail Duvanov, senior consultant at the Land and Industrial Property Department of Knight Frank Russia and CIS, said that Mercedes-Benz RUS spent more than 18 months looking for suitable warehousing space, which had to meet a number of strict criteria: to be fully compliant with Class A standards; to be located on the northern side of Moscow; to be up-and-running; and to have a certificate of ownership (the last point was of key importance for an international concern, such as Mercedes-Benz). Mercedes-Benz RUS considered 10 warehouse sites before making a final choice in favour of Leningradsky Terminal.

Leningradsky Terminal is fully compliant with all international standards for Class A warehousing space.

It is located on an area of 42 hectares adjacent to Leningrad Highway, which links Moscow with St. Petersburg. Tenants include UniTrans Logistic, Cargo Care, Itella NLC, Caterpillar and Volvo.

The developer of MLP Leningradsky Terminal is Multinational Logistic Partnerships (MLP).
