Knight Frank LLC is organizing its second annual conference devoted to the Russian warehouse and industrial real estate market. The conference will take place in Moscow on the 14th of September 2006.

The conference will be organized for market professionals such as investors, landlords, developers, logistics operators, consultants, and tenants of warehouse and industrial premises.

Knight Frank’s specialists will be presenting general conclusions of experience gained by Russian and international companies working in the field of development and management of warehousing premises.

The main points for discussion will be the results and trends of the Moscow warehouse market, medium term regional market development forecasts, and Knight Frank marketing and consultancy services for warehouse projects in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and many other large Russian cities.

Separate discussions within the framework of the conference will focus on the possibility and perspectives for the development of regional logistics hubs, and the specifics of their appearance in Russia.

Speakers at the conference will comprise of specialists from Knight Frank Moscow office, as well as representatives from the company’s European offices, who will speak about the realization of warehouse projects from an international perspective.
Judging by the results of 2006 and in accordance with the forecasts of Knight Frank’s specialists, the Russian warehouse market is witnessing dynamic development. Numerous high quality projects have been announced for Moscow and the Moscow Region over the next 2-3 years. Among the most significant are MLP’s Leningradskiy Terminal, RosEvroDevelopment’s Krekshino Logistics Park, and numerous other large scale projects.

This area is witnessing an influx of Russian and foreign capital investment. Investors include western investment funds, banks and international companies. In the Russian regions, Moscow structures are becoming more and more prevalent.

According to Roman Bourtsev, Deputy General Director and partner at Knight Frank LLC, demand for high quality warehouse space in Moscow and the regions will experience uninterrupted growth, and the perspectives for growth in the sector is clear. They are dependant, on the one hand, upon the growing interest in modern retail and service industry premises and the development of offices and industry, and on the other hand upon the shortage of such premises.

Roman Bourtsev states that Knight Frank’s strategy is based around the creation of a single logistics system, the focus of which will largely be the development of the warehouse premises sector of the market in the Moscow Region, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, and Kiev. “In accordance with the development of the economy and the level of demand for high quality warehouse premises, our company plans to broaden its area of interests on account of new local markets,” adds Bourtsev.
